How to rank a website with link building

Building-High-Quality-Links

After the Google Panda and Penquin updates many seo companies are stuck scratching their heads on what to do to rank their clients websites. Things have changed so dramatically over the past two years that companies had to change their strategies completely just to stay in business. So the big question is how has seo changed and how do I rank my website these days?

Get quality links

It’s not about the amount or quantity links you have pointing to your website but the quality of the links. People use to build links to other peoples websites that were in side bars and footers and the page would have more than 40 or 50 links going out on that page. The website with all the links was also a poor quality website and was set up purely to build links from. This was called a link farm. Google has since then caught on to these link schemes and devalued most of the links coming from those pages.

Google doesn’t penalize a website for bad links it just discredits you from receiving the link juice passed on from that page. There is the exception though. If you build say 100,000 links to a website in 1 month and that website doesn’t receive much traffic then Google will penalize you for those links. Think about it. The whole purpose of link build is people visiting your website and linking to it after they’ve read the information on it. If you build 100,000 links to your website but only receive 1000 visitors each month but will look very unnatural.

So what are quality links and how do you get them?

Article directories are a great way to build links. Ezinearticls.com is my favourite as Google values information on Ezine. Google also likes the fact Ezine moderates the articles before accepting then in their directory. Other article directories link goarticles.com use to have value but since anybody can post an articles on there without it being moderated people also post duplicate content, badly written articles and even articles with grammar and spelling errors. This is not the kind of content Google wants people to read and this is also not contributing to Google’ search engine.

If you give Google what they want they will reward you with good rankings. Don’t try and find a shortcut to page 1 put in the work. Write great and informative content that people will want to read and share. By doing this you help improve Google’ visitor’ experience.
