Most Effective Strategies for Natural Link Building

“Link building is a hugely important aspect of off-site search engine optimization, so you will therefore need to find the most natural and effective ways to do this. Google and other search engines tend to rank pages higher based on the number of quality links that are going to those pages, so the more links you have, the better your chances will be of having your website rank well.” – WME technical team

One of the methods that you can use to build your links is link requests, which essentially consists of simply asking owners of other websites to link back to your site. This method can be fairly hit or miss depending on how effective you are in convincing the website owner that a link to your site is beneficial to both you and them.

Using Directories

You will find that there are a number of different directories that you can submit listings to for free or for a free, so it is important that you take the time to check some of them out. There are niche-based directories, general directories, and local directories that you can create listings with. Although some internet marketers consider paying for listings on certain directories a bad thing, it can be an effective way to ultimately raise your website’s ranking in Google and other search engines.

Link Building Content

Building links with content is a great method to use, but it is important that you create high quality content that is informational and relevant to your target audience with all the right keyword for optimal search engine optimization. You can submit content with links to your website in them to article directories or even do some guest blogging with a link in your author bio at the very end. Plenty of people have had success with using this method, but you will need to go about it the right way if you really want to succeed.

Guest blogging is definitely one of the better ways to get your name and links out there for thousands of people to see. After you have written some top quality content on your own blog that you can show to websites as a sort of portfolio of your writing, you will be able to start contacting other blogs in your industry with audience members who could become your clients.

A lot of internet marketers have reservations about submitting their content to article directories like EzineArticles, but since Google’s Panda update came out they have been making more of an effort to focus on quality over quantity. You will want to keep in mind, however, that this is not a surefire way to succeed at link building, though you may experience some level of success.

Social Media Link Building

Link BuildingSocial links are another good way to go, and not just the kind in your social profiles. There are many different approaches that you can take with this method, such as blog comments, answering questions, forum posting, and lots of others.

These days millions of people are using videos for building links, and they can certainly be an effective way to accomplish this. A vast majority of video networks, such as Vimeo and YouTube, will allow you to add link in your video’s description, providing you with the perfect place to promote your business. The videos that you create and post to YouTube or another video website should be well made and informational, so the people who watch them are engaged and left wanting more (which is where your link comes in.)

You will also want to explore linking with social profiles. There are numerous social media and networking websites, including Facebook and Twitter, that are perfect for placing your links. Twitter actually provides you with different places to put links—the Web and Bio fields of your profile. When you are ready to edit your Twitter profile, simply go to Twitter and use the dropdown list to find “Settings” and then simply edit your profile to include the links you want to put in.

And while Facebook may not have quite as many places for you to put information and links, it does have a number of areas where you can put a live hyperlink. Make sure that you use short links that aren’t too short, as you don’t want people who look at them to think that you are a spammer. As long as you take the time to consider all of these things, you should succeed at link building to at least some degree.
